Man due to face court following arrest in Lightning Ridge — Strike Force Dominic

A man arrested by officers attached to Strike Force Dominic, established to investigate armed robberies in the Newcastle area, is due to face court today in the state’s north-west.
Strike Force detectives, working with local officers, arrested the 20-year-old man at a property on Gem Street in Lighting Ridge yesterday morning.
He was charged with aggravated robbery whilst in company and refused bail to appear in Walgett Local Court today.
The charge relates to an incident which is alleged to have occurred on a pie shop in Heatherbrae on Monday 6 October last year.
Police expect to lay further charges.
Strike Force Dominic was formed last November to investigate a number of armed robberies in the Greater Newcastle area.
It comprises detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, and Lake Macquarie, Newcastle City, Central Hunter and Port Stephens Local Area Commands.
