Two youths arrested, charged after brawl at south-western Sydney shopping centre

Police have restored order after an overnight brawl at a south-western Sydney shopping centre.
About 7.45pm yesterday (Thursday 26 February), police from Campbelltown Local Area Command responded to reports of a disturbance in the outdoor eating area of a Macarthur shopping mall.
Upon arrival, police observed a number of people fighting and up to 200 others watching on.
Extra police resources, including officers from the Commuter Crime Unit and Dog Unit, were brought in to help restore order.
The large crowd was moved on and a police presence was maintained in the area until after the shopping centre ceased trading for the night.
A 14-year-old Kearns boy and 16-year-old Campbelltown boy were both arrested and charged with refusing/failing to comply with a direction; using offensive language in a public place; and resisting police.
The pair has been refused bail to appear in Campbelltown Children’s Court today.
