Police seize firearm, prohibited drugs, sum of money and diamond – Botany Bay

Two men are due to appear in court today, after allegedly been found in possession of a loaded firearm, a sum of money, a large diamond and various prohibited drugs in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, early yesterday morning.
About 12.30am on Wednesday 25 February, officers from Botany Bay Local Area Command identified a car driving at high speed along General Holmes Drive, Mascot.
A search was conducted and police will allege that a handgun with a quantity of ammunition, a sum of cash and casino chips, a large diamond and various amounts of illegal drugs were uncovered.
The two Korean Nationals were charged with numerous offences in relation to the firearm, prohibited drugs, goods in custody, and proceeds of crime legislation regarding the large amount of currency seized.
The items and car were seized by police for further forensic examination and investigations are continuing.
The men, aged 47 and 31, will appear at Central Local Court.
