Man in court following armed robbery – Revesby
Date: 25/02/2009

Two employees of a fast food pizza chain which was held-up last year have been arrested by investigating police.

About 11am on Monday 15 September, a man wearing black clothing and a Halloween mask allegedly entered a fast food chain on Selems Parade and made demands for cash, whilst threatening store attendants with a knife.

The man then allegedly fled the scene with a sum of cash. No one was injured during the incident.

Police were called and detectives from Bankstown Local Area Command established Strike Force Halstead to investigate the incident.

Subsequent investigations by Strike Force Halstead led to the arrest yesterday of two employees of the fast food chain in connection with the alleged armed robbery.

The 17-year-old male and the 24-year-old man were questioned at Bankstown Police Station whilst a search warrant was executed on a home at Hilda Street, Bass Hill, where items were seized for forensic examination.

The teenager was released without charge pending a formal caution for larceny as a clerk.

The man was charged with larceny as a clerk and was granted bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on 18 March 2009.
