Police officer charged with stealing — Sydney’s north-west
Date: 24/02/2009
A police officer has been suspended from duty after being charged over the alleged theft of money from a purse handed in to police.
In early December last year it is alleged the police officer attended a home in Glenwood after a purse, containing a quantity of cash and documents, was located by a member of the public.
It is alleged that $100 had been removed from the purse when it was recorded at the police station later that day.
As a result of an investigation, the Senior Constable was last week issued with a future court attendance notice for the offence of stealing.
He is due to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 1 April 2009.
The officer is attached to a Local Area Command in the North West Metropolitan Region. He has been suspended from duty with pay.
