Boy arrested, charged after robbery – Newcastle

A young man will appear in court today after allegedly robbing another boy in Newcastle.
About 9:30pm (Wednesday 26 November 2008) the 17-year-old boy met the 14-year-old boy along with three other teenage boys at Wickham Railway Station. They walked to nearby shops then to a local Park. While in the park, the group and his associates assaulted the victim, removed the victims Mp3 player, cash, headphones and then left.
About 7:30pm yesterday the 14-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was subsequently charged with robbery in company.
He has been refused bail and is expected to appear at Broadmeadows Children Court.
