Man charged with historical child sexual assaults – Mayfield

A 32-year-old Mayfield man will appear in court next month in relation to a number of alleged sexual assaults on children.
He was arrested at his home yesterday after a lengthy investigation by Waratah Detectives.
The investigation began in February after a 21-year-old woman approached police with reports of a number of alleged sexual assaults in the Hamilton area between 1991 and 1993.
Investigators have charged the 32-year-old man with six counts of sexual intercourse with a child aged under 10 years. He was granted strict conditional bail and will appear in Newcastle Local Court on 11 November.
