Three men arrested over credit card racket - Maitland

Police have arrested three men over a sophisticated credit card racket at Maitland in the state’s Hunter Valley.
Officers stopped a Toyota Camry yesterday afternoon and allegedly found a series of false credit cards in the vehicle.
Police will allege that several stores in Maitland have been targeted by a team of fraudsters, which has made off with electrical goods, alcohol, cigarettes and other items this month.
Police arrested a 43-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both Singapore nationals visiting Sydney on tourist visas; a 32-year-old woman, also from Singapore; and a 36-year-old man from Malaysia.
They were taken to Maitland Police Station where the men were charged with use false instrument.
They are expected to appear in the Maitland Local Court today.
The woman was released pending further investigations.
