Fake police officer charges – Lower Hunter

Police have charged a man who allegedly falsely claimed to be a police officer in the Lower Hunter region.
Yesterday morning (Wednesday 29 August), two people told police they had been pulled over and forced to supply personal details to a man driving a white Nissan Pathfinder.
The man falsely claimed to be an undercover detective.
A short time later, police arrested a 23-year-old man at his home on Lawes Street at East Maitland.
He has been charged with three counts of assume designation and will appear at Maitland Local Court on Monday 24 September.
